Who is Peter
He's a medical doctor from the UK, holding an MSc in International Health from Heidelberg University, Germany. Furthermore, he is an experienced professional with extensive expertise in project management and consultation.

Encountering Peter at Charité's International Health Master's Program
My introduction to Peter occurred during our time in the international health master's program at Charité. What makes him stand out as a university professor isn't just his impressive qualifications, but also his friendly smile and his talent for connecting with every student. He shows a lot of enthusiasm for his subject, which always impresses me. It's not common to find someone so dedicated to their work that it inspires others. Peter is one of those special people.
Impactful Teaching
Peter has had a significant impact on my thoughts about global health topics. His teachings have influenced my perspectives on health projects, financing, management, and human resources. He creates an engaging learning environment for his students to reflect on issues related to health system structure and systematic and detailed thinking. Through three courses led by him, I've gradually gained insight into his intentions and developed a deeper understanding of his character, personality, and problem-solving abilities.
The Intersection of Health and Art
Last year, I introduced Peter to the idea of creating an art platform to connect, build community, and reinforce our health messages. During our conversation, I discovered Peter’s interest in poetry. As an Iranian, I'm aware of the cultural significance of poetry in my homeland, where people of all ages value and participate in this art form. However, I was positively surprised by Peter's interest in poetry, especially considering his different cultural background. It was pleasant to find that this form of art is universally appreciated. This experience reinforced my belief that each of us has a unique way of connecting with our inner selves and expressing ourselves and it can draw us closer to one another.
Reading his Poetry
After a year had passed since the initial idea I became interested in reading his poetry and discovering his artistic world. I wondered what his poems were about. Would they reflect his ideas about global health, finance, or management? Or perhaps they would explore philosophical reflections on human actions, or be more directed towards art and literature for the purpose of aesthetic expression? However, it turned out to be something else entirely – he sent me a poem about his daughter: "Sophie Blue Eyes". My first reaction was, "Oh my god, this is more beautiful than I ever imagined." I mean, is there anything more beautiful in this world than a caring father? It reminded me of my own father and how he used to sing for me as a kid, how he always looked at me with eyes full of love.
The poem
The text of the poem is so fluent and understandable, even for me as a non-native speaker. It flowed so well that while walking back home, I read it all, and now, an hour later, I'm writing about it. It is poetry as I've always understood it: There's clear imagination, a gentle, unexaggerated expression of love. There's depth of emotion; you can see two awe-filled eyes eagerly watching the growth of another human being, without any expectations, witnessing this person becoming wonderful. You can get to know Peter on a deeper level through his poem.
A platform to reconnect
I am now excited to share Peter's poetry on the Global Health Canvas platform.
I am proud that we are aiming to be more than just a platform for health and global social topics and I am happy to have a platform that connects us on another level. I deeply enjoy this human connection. I perceive it as if each of us grasps the thread of beauty and humanity, which serves to bind us together, beyond solely relying on our expertise. This platform serves as a dynamic space for encouraging dialogue and community engagement. There are times when I feel very weak, and then I gain strength from beauty. The beauty of Peter's poem made me feel once again that I am on the right track. It made me realize that there is much more to this platform, and I hope the same holds true for you too. As Peter is very inspiring for many people, I hope it encourages all of us to use this thread and hold on together through hardships.
